Safety

The CAC provides recommendations to Flint Hills Resources on enhanced refinery safety programs and community initiatives. CAC members review safety concerns and  hazards happening in the industry, learn about Flint Hills Resources’ award winning safety programs, and discuss with FHR representatives proactive steps to reduce the risk for accidents.  The CAC is also provided information on a FHR safety, security and health reports, including the refinery’s fire department, paramedic team, railroad safety efforts and general OSHA recordable safety incident data. The refinery is actively using uses this feedback in its ongoing efforts to be a top performer in refinery health and safety.

One major safety milestone was to help establish the Flint Hills Resources Emergency Notification through the Dakota County Communications Center.
